The story of discovering the identities of the parents of brothers Mathew L. Rone, Mobley H. Rhone and two of their siblings. In addition, the identity of their maternal grandparents was also discovered, and some erroneous information about the siblings of Mathew's wife (Emaline Fowler) is also corrected.
Their forbears settled first in Wake County, North Carolina in the mid-1790s, moved to Mecklenburg County, North Carolina in 1806 and then migrated to Tennessee in the 1820s. They show up in records of Bedford County and Lincoln County, Tennessee in the 1830s and 1840s.
Mathew's line moved to Ray County, Missouri around 1835. Mobley's line migrated to Houston County, Texas in 1838. Their brother, Samuel Rone Junior, moved to Tishomingo County, Mississippi in the late 1850s, and their sister, Rebeccah (Rone) Woodard remained in Lincoln County, Tennessee.
